Soma (carisoprodol) is prescribed for the treatment of injuries and other similar musculoskeletal conditions that cause pain. If your treatment is successful your doctor will recommend gradual withdrawal from this medicine to avoid unpleasant symptoms, such as sleep problems, headache, nausea, stomach pain and convulsions. This drug is not intended for patients younger than 12. Some patients report dizziness when taking this drug. If you are expected to perform tasks that require you to be alert and attentive make sure you know how your body reacts to Soma. If you are also using any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs, herbal preparations, mineral supplements or vitamins let your doctor know about that before starting the treatment. Sometimes the following mild side effects may occur: hiccups, an upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, blurred vision, headache, tremor, irritability and depression. If any of these side effects worsen, change in intensity or do not go away after several days call your doctor as your dosage may need to be reconsidered. Do not give Soma to other people.
